Jerome T. Landsberger Sr.
Jerome T. Landsberger, 84, of Phoenix, passed peacefully October 25th, at home. Raised in St. Cloud, Minnesota, he graduated St. John's University in 1942, and enlisted in U.S. Navy officer training at Northwestern University. He was skipper of LCT 546, which landed on Omaha Beach on D-Day Second Wave. He retired from the American Can Company after a long career. Survivors are his wife Vivian, sons Russell (Christine), Brian (Mia), and Jerry Jr., daughter Kristin (Anthony), eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, brothers Gerald, Rev. Robert, Rev. Nicholas, Ronald and Leroy, and sisters Grace, Eileen, Rachel and Floreen. He was preceded in death by his sister Audrey. Funeral Mass will be said by his brother, Fr. Robert Landsberger, on Monday, October 31st, at 10 AM, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 2312 E. Campbell Ave. Arrangements entrusted to Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home.
